Agreement signed for feasibility study to transport green hydrogen from Portugal to the Netherlands

A consortium between Shell New Energies NL BV, ENGIE, Vopak and Anthony Veder has been formed to develop a renewable liquid hydrogen supply chain between the ports of Sines and Rotterdam. With expertise across the full value chain, this p roject will be the largest of its kind, planning to produce, transport and store 100 tonnes of liquid hydrogen per day.

Both countries have ambitions for hydrogen production and transportation, confirmed at the Rotterdam World Hydrogen Summit in May 2022. In addition to this, hydrogen end users in heavy duty trucking, marine and aviation have voiced their support for this project.
